Mean Guns is one of my favorite Albert Pyun films-it combines his eccentric style and action film chops to perfection. One of the greatest disappointments in my movie collection is that I do not have a full widescreen edition of this movie. Well, now you can see some of the film the way it was shot. At 1:23 look for the Christopher Lambert sequence of him dropping some garrote action ala Spider-Man! This is really compromised when you can't see the entire frame...a real shame.

I adore MEAN GUNS, it made a deep impression on me as a kid and I eagerly hunted it down when I grew up. Sadly, my tape and DVD are both fullscreen so this is a treat!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I was really freaked out by that garrote dropping scene. I believe that our Ninja Dixon has a widescreen version!
